Senior Stoles

For those senior FFA students that qualify, FFA Graduation Stoles can be purchased through the Cy-Woods FFA Booster Club.

  • The FFA Graduation Stole is a graduation honor which must be earned. The qualifications for a Cy-Woods FFA student to wear the stole, as set by the Cy-Woods FFA teachers, is for only those students which have earned, or will have earned by the summer post graduation, the LONESTAR DEGREE.

    Students should get with their Ag teacher to verify they have met the requirements to earn their Lonestar Degree and have completed all the required paperwork needed to submit to receive it.

  • As this is an honor stole where not all senior students may be eligible to purchase, students and their parents will be contacted by either the FFA teacher or the Booster Club directly with instructions on how to purchase your graduation stole.

    Stoles will be handed out at the End of Year FFA Banquet.

  • The Cy-Woods FFA Booster Club has pre-ordered stoles in order to have them in time for graduation. Stoles will be provide to the Seniors who purchased one at the FFA banquet. If you cannot make banquet your stole will be available for pick up from your student’s Ag teachers after banquet.

FFA Banquet - Senior Stations

Spotlight your FFA Senior at the End of Year FFA Banquet.

Each year at banquet Seniors are each provided a table they can decorate and display with memories of their high school and FFA activities and achievements. Students can also display items relating to their future plans beyond graduation. It is up to the Senior and their family what and how to display, we only ask that you please keep your displays within the parameters equivalent to a 4 ft table so we have room to fit all graduates that choose to set up and spotlight their senior.

Tables are provided. You are responsible to bring all decorations you need.

All FFA Seniors are to attend banquet in full FFA dress for the jacket retirement ceremony.

Please let us know if you will be spotlighting your senior at banquet by submitting this form. We want to make sure we are set up to accommodate all needed senior spotlight stations.

Scholarship

Through the generosity of others and a direct result of fundraising success the Cy-Woods FFA Booster Club awards several scholarships to graduating Senior FFA Members to help with the costs of college. The scholarships are a one time offering, see details in the Scholarship section below.

FFA Booster Club Scholarship FAQ

  • Scholarships are a direct result of fundraising efforts, membership dues, and donations. Each year funds are reviewed and the total value of scholarship monies to be awarded are determined based off available funds in accordance to our bylaws. The Cy-Woods FFA Booster Club has committed to rewarding a minimum of, but not limited to, FOUR (4) scholarships each school year as long as funds are available. Scholarships being awarded for the academic year are posted by January 1st. Not all applicants are guaranteed a scholarship.

  • In order for a student to be eligible for a CWFFABC scholarship, the student must

    • Be a graduating Cypress Woods High School senior

    • Be an ACTIVE member of the Cy-Woods FFA Chapter

    • Have completed a minimum of TWO (2) years or FOUR (4) semesters with ONE (1) year being their SENIOR year of Agricultural Education courses at Cy-Woods.

    • Must have an overall minimum of 75% (2.5/4.0, “C”) or better grade point average through the first semester of his/her senior year.

    • Must submit the signed copy of the CWFFABC Scholarship Rules & Guidelines document.

    • Must submit a copy (can be scanned in & emailed) of his/her high school transcript, signed by the school registrar, with the Cypress Woods FFA Booster Club Scholarship application.

    • Must submit ONE (1) letter of recommendation, can be scanned in & emailed as an attachment, with the scholarship application.

    o The letter can be from any CFISD faculty member (NOT a Woods Ag Teacher), an employer, organization representative, etc.

    • Must have participated in a minimum of FOUR (4) chapter activities (stock shows, LDE, CDE, Community Service, etc.)

    • Have a recommended minimum of EIGHT (8) FFA related volunteer hours per year.

    • Must be in *GOOD STANDING* with the school, FFA Chapter, Booster Club and Community.

    o *Good Standing - Must have no outstanding fines, fees or dues owed to the school or organizations and no adverse conduct reports Senior year at the time of application.

    • Must have been accepted, or awaiting acceptance, to an accredited two (2) or four (4) year college, university or other post-secondary institution or recognized technical or trade school.

    Transfer student requirements:

    o Must have completed, at minimum, his/her senior year at Cypress Woods High School.

    o Must be enrolled in an Agricultural Education course at Cy-Woods their Senior Year.

    o Total FFA Course Credits will be determined by student’s complete transcript

    o A letter of recommendation must be from the student’s former Ag teacher in a sealed envelope if less than TWO (2) years or FOUR (4) semesters have been completed at Cy-Woods.
